CSS and Note Taking Overhaul
Frequent site visitors (aka just myself) might notice a major revamp of the design went into effect this evening. I threw out the color scheme that I generated with coolors.co and opted for a sleek dark mode design instead. Coolors is a neat tool, but I realized the old color scheme made more sense in a graphic design or marketing context maybe, not really for a software dev's personal website. So, I went in and gutted the app of all the old hex values and replaced them with some colors I eyeballed based on my work note taking app, Obsidian. I took the opportunity to replace the hard coded color values with CSS variable references, a feature I embarrassingly didn't realize was possible until last week at work, but the new layout is so much easier to maintain.
On an unrelated note, I've also made big changes to how I take them. Whereas previously I was using this development log as a notepad of sorts to track progress and blockers, earlier this month I decided to focus on keeping real time notes in a Notion workbook. I will still post updates here as appropriate, but more at a weekly cadence as I continue work on my side project, codenamed Krampus. I'm overdue for an update on that here, but tonight was all about this site's design so I'll get back to Krampus later this week.
